The main processions of Holy Week are “Jesus of Nazareth” on Holy Thursday, “The Silent Procession” on Good Friday and the “ The meeting” on Resurrection Sunday.
The resurrection is celebrated by the JIjona locals by going out into the countryside to eat the traditional “mona” (a sweet bun with a hard-boiled egg) and to fly their kites.
In JIjona people also celebrate the “Mona” of Saint Vincent or the Second “Mona” when the locals go to the country houses of friends and family to eat their “mona” (bun made with flour, sugar and eggs).
